U-Value
The U-Value of the glass refers to how well it prevents heat being radiated outside. The lower the value, the better. To put the values into perspective, single-glazed glass has a typical u-value of 5.6, ordinary double-glazing is between 2.8 and 3.5, double-glazing with low-emissivity glass is around 1.8, and the low-emissivity glass with argon has in the gap is around 1.6.
Sale boarding up services
If you’ve had an accident late at night, we won’t be able to replace your glass immediately. In this case, we will board up your window with plywood boards to maintain security, and arrange for the glass to be fitted once it is available. We operate a 24-hour* rapid-response Sale boarding-up service, to give you peace of mind when you need it most. We can also board-up large Sale commercial premises when the owner has vacated the building, or is in the process of a large-scale refurbishment, where the building needs to be protected against squatters and other intruders. All boarding-up jobs in Sale and the local area include a free quote on replacement glass if required.
